Virginia ROMETTY appointed new IBM CEO

On the 25th October 2011, the IBM administration council elected Virginia Rometty as the new IBM CEO and president. She will take office on the 1st January 2012.

Virginia Rometty is currently IBM senior vice-president and Group Executive for sales, marketing and strategy. She succeed Samuel Pamisano, present IBM administration council president, CEO and president.
During these last ten years, Virginia Rometty lead successfully a great number of projects at the head of worldwide sales, in particular the organization of Global Business Partners and Midmarket, and the integration of PricewaterhouseCoopers Consulting, the most important IBM purchasing in the history of professional services.
